John Scott is coming to speak to us about the trends and investments in the grocery sector.
This $110 billion vital component of the Canadian economy is subject to the rapidly changing consumer needs, attitudes and impulses.
How does your grocery store influence your buying habits?
Why do they keep changing their looks and layout?
What do consumers want, need and look for?
How can we as producers play a role in peoples buying decisions!
You will leave the evening with a different look at the grocery stores you are shopping at every week.

“Activists on the farm”
Trespassing on farm property is a growing concern for Ontario farmers. From rural trail hikers detouring into a pasture to ATV drivers ruining crops, farmers have dealt with all types of unwanted visitors on the farm who leave varying degrees of damage. The latest threat to farmers, especially livestock farmers and transporters is the increasing risk of activists trespassing, invading, breaking into barns and harassing farmers, their families and employees.
The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) is reminding all Ontario farmers to be aware of these ongoing threats and take precautions to prevent, or at least mitigate the consequences of any trespassers that threaten regular farm activities, farmers, their families or employees.

“Mother’s with a heart for Ethiopia”
Shelley Green will talk to us about her experience with Mothers with a Heart for Ethiopia.
She adopted a little girl in June of 2010 from Ethiopia. When Shelley and her mother were in Ethiopia to meet her daughter, they were impacted by the poverty around them. Mother’s with a Heart for Ethiopia was started from a desire to help others better understand how they can make a difference in the lives of women and children in Ethiopia. They desire to demonstrate care and love to women and children through the financial support of programs that will improve the quality of life and provide hope.

“Health Workshop”
"A healthy You, body and mind"
In the morning for this workshop we will look at three different treatments with Kristina, Jodi and Catherine. After lunch Johan will reteach us some self defense technics.
Kristina de Kroon is a Naturopathic Doctor. She truly believes that by optimizing one’s mind, body, and spirit, one's quality of life can be optimized. Her clinical practice largely focuses on setting the foundations for health through diet, lifestyle, and mindset interventions. Once the foundations of health are in place, then indicated herbs, nutritional supplements, and/or acupuncture are utilized. Kristina prides herself in her strong research background, and through Naturopathic medical practices, she offers a complementary approach in conjunction with treatment from your family doctor and other allied health care providers. Optimal health rarely packages itself nicely into a box, and sometimes one approach to health cannot always provide all the answers. Kristina views her role as a Naturopathic Doctor is to support YOU, the individual, on the absolute best healthcare options, whether it be naturopathic medicine, a referral to conventional medicine, or the perfect blend of both
Jodi Pendry has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 1993, graduating from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. Starting her business in her hometown of Erin, Jodi takes great pride in treating her patients with the best of her ability. May 2009 Jodi finished a five-year program with the Canadian College of Osteopathy and now offers the treatment of Osteopathy along with Massage Therapy.
Osteopathy is a hands-on manual manipulation taking into consideration the entire body and all its systems. A “whole person” philosophy of medicine, where Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) endorse an approach that treats the entire person, rather than a specific complaint.
Attention is given to prevention, wellness, and helping the body to heal itself. Because the body is viewed as a single organism or unit, special focus is given to understanding body mechanics and the interrelationship of the body’s organs and systems. A particular emphasis is placed on the musculoskeletal system. DO’s may utilize physical manipulation of muscles, bones, cranial and visceral in conjunction with, or as an alternative to, conventional treatments, drug therapies and surgery to provide complete health care.
Catherine Cannon does Edu-Therapy™ Grief Resolution. It is an easy to use model that reduces and eliminates intense uncomfortable emotional responses to loss, trauma, and abuse One Solution to One of the Most Painful Issues.
There are more than 60 events that can create the range of human emotions called grief. A death, divorce, estrangements, loss of trust issues, financial changes, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and health Issues head the list. Whether the loss was recent or long ago, it may still be limiting your ability to participate fully in life and relationships. The Edu-Therapy™ Grief Resolution Process assists in the ultimate journey back to your heart and to the mainstream of your life.
Grief is the normal human response to loss. Unfortunately, there is little information on how to resolve the intense conflicting emotions caused by life events.
