Katy Hutchison, the mother of nineteen-year old twins, Emma and Sam, resides with her family in Victoria, BC. She moved to Vancouver Island fourteen years ago, following the murder of her husband Bob McIntosh. In the course of dealing with the legal issues surrounding Bob's death, she met and married lawyer Michael Hutchison. After Bob's murder on New Year's Eve 1997 Katy waited for five years
while the police worked tirelessly to obtain the evidence to prosecute and convict his killers. Katy is a concerned parent, author and restorative justice advocate with a compelling, real life story. Through a powerful and poignant multi-media presentation, Katy shares how this traumatic event impacted her as a wife and as a mother of two young children. Her personal and interactive presentation is designed to inform her audience of the risks arising from using alcohol and other drugs and unsupervised settings, and to empower them to make healthier choices so similar tragedies can be prevented. In addition, Katy explores the power of forgiveness and describes her own grassroots quest for restorative justice.

" Canada Foodgrains ”
We all know farmers feed the world but we often forget that a huge number of them are women. While all farmers face the challenges of climate and market, globally women farmers face the additional challenge of gender inequity. Working to balance the scales by empowering women can have a significant impact in the Canadian Foodgrains Bank’s work of ending hunger. Solutions won’t come easy but they begin with understanding. David and Kathryn Mayberry have job shared the position of Ontario Resource Coordinators for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank since 1997. In this role they assist the members of the CFGB in collecting resources (grain & cash) and act as a resource to churches, community groups and individuals on issues of food and global hunger. Kathryn has traveled to Ethiopia, Kenya, Eritrea, India and Bangladesh to learn about the causes and effects of hunger. David has traveled to Ethiopia, Kenya, the DPR Korea (commonly called North Korea) and led the Youth Discovery Tour to Central America six times. The Mayberrys are retired dairy farmers from Oxford County. They have been married for 38 years and have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
“ Annual business Meeting "
During the annual business meeting, voting will take place for new members in the executive team. Kim de Klein from OMAFRA will be assisting with the election.
